Black Lives Still Matter

In July 2020, we committed to a future issue devoted entirely to the Black Lives Matter movement—to starting conversations rooted in history, politics, fiction, poetry, current events, and our mutual need for accountability. This first issue of 2021, in what seems like a new era altogether, is that issue. In this issue, we draw attention to the ongoing struggle for Black liberation, to engage deeply with the long, enduring history of racism and the social construction of race, and to think about what anti-racism looks like today and tomorrow.
